When My Name Was Keoko

This book is about a girl named Sun-hee and her brother, Tae-yul. The book takes the reader in to 1940s. It was in Korea during the occupation of Japanese. They went through many events in school and also had family problems. Tae-yul volunteers for Japanese military for his family and his country, while Sun-hee and his family wait for him with hope. Later Korea is released from Japan because the Japanese Emperor surrenders. This book is from Korean's perspective so there aren't any thoughts from Japanese point of view.

Secret

When I was in 2nd grade, our school kids' moms were having a meeting at a place called "Seoul Club." They were having a meeting after school, so most of them brought their kids to the meeting. Seoul Club was a place you can enjoy your time from kids to adults. At the Seoul Club there was a place where practically no one came in, it was like a secret place for us. At that place there were fences so that people won't fall below. When we looked down, there was a blue truck=D (hehe) and around us, there was ALOT of rocks(trust me even you people would have had hard time trying to refuse that temptation:D even though it's a BAD thing to do). So we picked up the rocks and started dropping the rocks on the truck and suddenly we heard 'WHAMMMM!!' ahha!! my friend threw a brick (not a rock a HUGE, RED, BRICK>ㅁ<) and with that sound the glass broke... and I still remember my friends face:)))). And that became a secret between me and the people who were there. Well.. now I don't know where they are, but even though it's a secret now it's just a fun memory that I will have forever: )))

Courage

One of the courageous things that I did was when I was in 5th grade. In P.E. class we learned swimming. One day a friend of mine dropped his goggle in to the deepest part of the swimming pool. So we told the teacher, which she couldn't do anything. I don't remember the exact reason why, but I think it was because she didn't have her swimming suit. Also the stick that you clean the pool was too short. When my friend tried to go get it, because of the pressure on his ear, he would come right back up. So I tried in for a moment I thought I also felt the pressure but then later on I couldn't feel it any more. So I went down to get his goggle, even though I was out of air I felt I had done something good. I feel that that was one of my courageous moments. :)
