I think that the theme of this novel is to be happy with what you have, be satisfied because the change might be worse than what you have in the present. Napoleon, the main character, is smart out of the whole bunch of the animals. He gets in power and makes other lives of the farm harder. In the beginning ,all the animals in the farm makes plans to get rid of the human, but later on they realize that Napoleon had made the farm life worse than before. Napoleon’s unrighteous ruling made all the other animals to suffer and feel less freedom. This theme is important to teenagers living in 2009 because we are the future of our country later on. We are the ones that will chose our country's future, with wrong decisions we will live under someone like Napoleon and have a life that doesn't have freedom or happiness.
